Raja Koduri Starts Generative AI Gaming Software Startup
Raja Koduri Starts generative AI startup after quit from Intel where he served as an Indian-American group’s leader for accelerated computing systems and graphics.
Koduri said in a tweet that he would start a new chapter in his life. He was hired by Intel in 2017 from AMD.
“Thanks to Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger for sharing a lot of treasured memories and tremendous learning during the last five years. Will be starting a software firm as a new chapter in my life. In the upcoming weeks, I’ll have more to share” he published.
He was recognized by Gelsinger for his contributions to Intel technology and architecture, particularly in regard to high-performance graphics that aided in the launch of three new product lines in 2022.
The Intel CEO wished the founders of the new software company success as they built it around generative AI for gaming, media, and entertainment.
Koduri’s departure will happen at the end of March. An Intel spokesman stated that the chief architect role will not be filled at this time.
After taking a medical leave of absence late last year and following “27 years with GPU firms and 22 generations of GPU technology”, Koduri informed the tech news site CRN that he had “seriously pondered retirement”.
Gelsinger wrote in his message to the staff that he was “mixedly emotional” when he bid Koduri and Randhir Thakur, the founding director of Intel Foundry Services contract manufacturing, farewell.
