Paytm Mall has a new COO
Paytm Mall, the online marketplace arm of Paytm, has appointed Paytm veteran Amit Sinha’s as COO of its entire operations. The appointment comes after Paytm Mall was hived off as a separate business. Paytm had de-merged its three-year old e-commerce business into a separate unit—Paytm Mall. The company launched a dedicated online portal and mobile app for Paytm Mall in February this year. Amit Sinha was until recently a senior vice president at parent company One 97 Communications.
Amit Sinha is an MBA from Indian Institute of Management-Calcutta with an engineering degree from Indian School of Mines. He has spent nearly a decade at One 97 Communications across various functions.
According to a press statement from Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma “At Paytm Mall, we are addressing a unique opportunity of giving small businesses and retailers access to mobile internet technology to address India’s large mobile consumer base. Amit’s experience in building various businesses since their inception makes him our best choice to lead our commerce business.”
Paytm Mall helps brands and retailers build their online presence by assisting them in the whole design process and related operations. It also helps them build the supply chain required to align themselves with their online presence.
According to a press statement from Sinha, “We are innovating on multiple aspects of business and offering newer business opportunities for sellers. Paytm Mall also aims to be the preferred destination for consumers looking for the largest selection of products being sold by trusted sellers,”
