Partnership: IPV & BITS Pilani Goa to Support Startup Ecosystem

As it seeks to assist and fund social and impact enterprises being incubated at the campus, Gurugram-based Inflection Point Ventures, an angel investment platform, has established a strategic partnership with the BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Society (BGIIES) to support the startup ecosystem.

The BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Society is registered with BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus, one of the most renowned Science and Technical Universities in India, and manages the incubation centre of that institution.

BGIIES Goa aspires to improve the local startup ecosystem and empower business owners by giving them access to finance and mentoring so they may create disruptive and significant enterprises.

“IPV works closely with more than 25 exclusive communities affiliated with E-cells, universities, schools, and alumni associations including IITs & IIMs,” stated Ankur Mittal, co-founder of Inflection Point Ventures. Since some of the best startups have come from alumni groups and campus startups, we have always placed a high value on them.

Additionally, our Campus Connect programmes enable our portfolio companies to work with leading universities and recruit from them. With this partnership, we hope to fund entrepreneurs from the college’s incubation cell for the first time. BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus is new ground for us. We are certain of excellent results and are replicating this concept with our current college network. Supporting business owners around the nation is in our DNA, said Ankur.

The relationship will have many elements, according to the statement, with the goal of encouraging an entrepreneurial culture among the students. Top VCs and angel investors will be mentoring businesses by giving them access to the industry and funding at events that BGIIES – BITS Pilani Goa and IPV will co-host.

The investment company will use its ties with leading VC funds in the sector to forge one-on-one relationships with high-potential young startups and provide them with seed money.

General Manager of the BGIIES Incubator, Tarun Krishnakumar, stated, “IPV has worked with BGIIES to develop a strong startup environment for incubated firms. As a result, efficiencies will rise, solid businesses will get a chance to scale quickly, and the whole country will benefit in the long run.

In order to enhance startup & investor experiences and secure future growth, Tarun remarked that the MoU will enable IPV to share their knowledge and skills with us.

The IPV will be able to formalise startup investments through this collaboration with BGIIES – Goa, the BITS Pilani alumni network, and startups, which will allow the alumni and members of the institution to assess and take part in startups emerging from The BITS Goa Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship Society (BGIIES), it said.
