NumberZ in talks with Sequoia to raise $3 million

NumberZ, the financial technology startup that helps small businesses in invoice and cash flow management, is in talks with Sequoia Capital for a $3 million capital infusion into the Gurgaon-based startup. The startup, founded in 2015 by Aditya Tulsian, Rajeev Chari and and Baskar Ganapathy, was earlier named as “Getfiscal”. It raised seed funding last year from Kae Capital and Khosla Impact.

The startup was selected to be part of Yes Bank’s accelerator program. Subsequently, NumberZ collaborated with the bank for creating a unified dashboard to integrate day-to-day banking within core business workflows for simplifying tasks like tracking expenses, managing payrolls, syncing data, making payments etc. for small businesses. It is also offering GST-based solutions, which can enable access to clients’ supply chain and the GSTN portal through the platform. Besides NumberZ, a number of other players such as Jio and Tally are also offering GST based solutions

Sequoia is also an investor in KredX, a competitor of NumberZ, which enables small merchants to sell their invoices raised against blue-chip companies at a discount to investors, banks and financial institutions to raise money for their working capital needs.
