The Moms group receives INR6.5 crore investment from DSG Group and Saama Capital

The Moms group, a mom and baby care consumer groups startup, has raised INR6.5 crore investment from DSG Consumer Partners and Saama Capital in seed funding round to expand its product range. The Gurgaon-based startup makes natural, certified toxin-free skin and food products across mother and baby care categories. It last raised a seed round from Shripad Nadkarni, cofounder of food startup Fingerlix; Nestle executive Nandu Nandkishore; and senior partners from McKinsey in March 2017.

Malika Sadani, CEO of The Moms Co., commented that “We are midway through our testing phase and will launch this all-natural and toxin-free baby range with seven products by the end of the year”. She further added that “Currently, our products are available in two hospitals in Gurgaon. We would love to be in 10 hospitals by March and are already in talks with a few pharma stores”. Besides its website, the company also sells its products through various ecommerce websites.

As the product range expands, the startup expects the 5,000-strong customer base to treble by March 2018 to touch 15,000. It is also looking to hire senior management to bolster the business as far as driving the brand, marketing and sales growth is concerned.
