IvyCamp, Airbus BizLab collaborates for season 2 of their accelerator program

IvyCamp, an initiative of IvyCap Ventures, has associated with Airbus BizLab for the second season of its accelerator program in Bangalore. The programme will support innovative startups in Robotics, IoT, Data Analytics, Image Processing, VR/AR, FinTech, Supply Chain, Door to Door Mobility, Gaming, Aviation Products and Services, Drones, Manufacturing, Airport Management, Space Technologies and Solutions

As part of a company-wide effort to enhance its innovation process, Airbus operates a global network of accelerator facilities – called Airbus BizLabs – to speed up the transformation of ground-breaking ideas into valuable business propositions, all within an extended innovation eco-system.

An Airbus BizLab provides wide-ranging support for early-stage projects in the form of a six-month acceleration programme, through which entrepreneurs, start-up businesses and Airbus employee “intrapreneurs” are given access to a large number of coaches, experts and mentors across various domains – including technology, legal, finance, marketing and communications, easing prototyping and market access.

Over the past year, Airbus BizLab has hosted 15 start-ups and 27 Airbus internal projects on its six month acceleration programme. During the same period, Airbus BizLab has extended its international presences to three locations – Toulouse (France), Hamburg (Germany) and Bangalore (India) – supporting the Airbus strategy to create a global network of business accelerators.

“The BizLab has been attracting innovative start-ups from all over the world. We are extremely proud that four of these start-ups, accelerated in the BizLabs of Toulouse and Hamburg, have just succeeded in obtaining substantial funding from global investors,” said Bruno Gutierres, Head of Airbus BizLab, in a statement. “This demonstrates the business value and quality of the projects we have been supporting. We excited to be launching the second call for projects in Toulouse and look forward to seeing some disruptive ideas”.

Speaking about the partnership, Anju Gupta, President IvyCamp, said “Creating a connect between industry, innovators and our educational institutes is very important to help drive innovation to address practical everyday problems that the industry is facing. To help these innovators on the path to success requires a daily engagement with the experts in that industry, resources to prototype and test, and access to markets to validate. We believe that Airbus BizLab will provide this opportunity to deserving startups and we are very excited to partner with them.”

The second program will begin in Jan 9, 2017.
