Indian Govt Setting Up Mechanism To Monitor the Progress of Startups

As the number of startups has increased to over a lakh, the govt setting up mechanism to monitor their development. Science and technology minister Jitendra Singh announced this on Sunday.

According to him, such a structure will closely monitor the development of startups and determine how to maintain them so that they do not suffer, especially those who have gotten government technical and financial help.

At this location’s Pragati Maidan, Singh was speaking at the National Technology Week Exposition’s closing ceremony and awards ceremony.

The minister claimed that as new prospects in oceanography have emerged, start-ups have seen a shift over time from IT to Biotech and Earth Sciences.

He dispelled myths about startups as well.

“One is age; I’ve seen scientists launch startups after retiring; the second is higher education; all you need to be is an innovator with an innate desire for innovation”, according to Singh.

Ajay Kumar Sood, principal scientific advisor, proposed that a Startup Day and Week be held in accordance with the National Technology Day and Week’s format.

Every company that participated in the Exposition, according to S Chandrasekhar, Secretary of Science & Technology, was particularly aware of sustainable development.

We intend to stop all greenhouse gas emissions and lessen environmental harm through Amritkaal, he said.

Singh also gave out the National Technology Awards for effective local innovation in technology commercialization.

On May 11, which marked the 25th anniversary of the Pokhran-II nuclear testing conducted in 1998, the national technology week celebrations got underway.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the country’s former prime minister, established the National Technology Day in 1999 as a way to recognise the scientists, engineers, and technologists who contributed to India’s growth in science and technology and made the Pokhran tests in May 1998 a success.
