IIT Incubated Startup ManaliSwing Launches AI -Backed Giant Swing
AI -Backed Giant Swing: In January, visitors to Manali will be able to experience an exhilarating ride on a massive swing powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI). The gigantic swing was created by a start-up incubated at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi, and is reportedly the first of its type in the world.
The start-up called “ManaliSwing,” founded by four childhood friends who are engineers, certified rock climbers, and mountaineers, has finished its human jump trials and is in the process of filing five patents for the idea and design.
According to the team, it has already been contacted by the Dubai government to start the swing there, and it is also in contact with Swiss agencies who are also interested.
At IIT Hyderabad, the start-up conducted a large-scale trial of 1,000 dummy jumps before successfully completing human jumps in the presence of IRATA specialists.
“The AI will also assist in tracking participant and jump master performance over millions of data points and offer optimized approvals for leaping. An advantage for a Jump Master and his crew in ensuring that no harm, incident, or causality can occur on the site is having a highly intelligent AI”.
According to one of the founders, Utsav Soni, “This will be one of the best technological, innovative, and adventure sport intersections of this decade, and it has the ability to completely disrupt the adventure tourism sector. The good news is that we don’t need any pricey equipment or specialized high-tech cameras to do this. With an existing standard hi-res CCTV security camera feed, this can be franchised anywhere around the world”.
