Hyperloop One is pitching for its services in domestic market
Hyperloop One, the US-based startup which offers transportation services through magnetic levitation technology, is pitching hard to provide its services in the domestic market. The company organized an event which was attended by the Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, and pitched for developing super-fast transportation solution to reduce the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to 60 minutes, and Mumbai and Chennai to 30 minutes. Hyperloop One uses is working on magnetic levitation technology in low-pressure tubes to transport people and goods at sub-sonic speeds. The company is currently working on operationalizing the technology in Nevada, United States.
Taking cognizance of the technology, Suresh Prabhu said that “It is very exciting to think of travelling between Mumbai and Delhi in minutes. We will closely watch how it is happening. Speed is our focus and are also trying to increase the average speed of trains in the country”. NITI Ayog CEO Amitabh Kant gave his consent for the technology, and also said that “We will be happy to facilitate and act as a catalyst and to work in partnership with you”.
