Freshdesk trolls Salesforce on home ground
Chennai-based CRM providers Freshdesk took on Salesforce on their home ground in San Francisco through a series of satirical ads painted on the municipality buses. Their catchy lines on the ads read ‘Sorry we didn’t launch earlier’ ‘I blew $2000 setting up Salesforce’ and many more. Freshsales is Freshdesk’s CRM platform for high-velocity sales teams.
Interestingly, the campaign was launched right during Dreamforce, Salesforce’s annual event with over 18000 attendees and CRM experts across the globe. Freshdesk was the only company added this year to Gartner’s 2016 Magic Quadrant for the CRM Customer Engagement Center.
Freshdesk is a cloud-based customer support platform that was founded with the mission of enabling companies of all sizes to provide great customer service. It has more than 80,000 users and 800 employees across the globe. The platform was innovated due to bad CRM experience where organisations end up losing time and resources.
In a video, founder Girish Mathrubootham explained about the lack of flexibility in the Salesforce platform—which triggered him to build a better CRM for small and medium businesses. “Sales teams should not need a CRM and four other tools to drive sales. With our expertise in building easy-to-use business software, we decided to build a CRM of our own. In addition to building all of the basics, we integrated phone and email into it so that sales reps can manage conversations from one place. Along with that, we built event tracking into it the system so that sales reps could see what users were doing on their website or product,” their website explained.
