Distribution solution provider Gati invests in BrownTape
Hyderabad-based express distribution and supply chain solutions provider, Gati Ltd has made an investment of $2.7 Mn (INR 18.5 Cr) in BrownTape – a cloud-based software solutions company which help online merchants manage the orders for multiple e-commerce marketplaces.
Commenting on the development, Dhruv Agarwal, Chief Strategy Officer of Gati said, “Gati will utilize the BrownTape platform to develop our unique single-window solution to customers by integrating an all established pan-India logistics network and BrownTape’s multichannel order management platform. Online sellers will be able to manage their e-commerce ecosystem seamlessly in terms of order flow physical product flow and information flow.”
BrownTape allows Internet merchants to harness the power of multi-channel eCommerce. The company has a technology platform that helps sellers on marketplaces, manage orders and inventory in one place.
In a press statement, Gati has claimed delivers 2.5 lac packages per day in India. “Starting from a niche cargo management company in 1989, Gati has grown into an organization with over 3100 business partners and a pan‐India network that reaches 672 of the 674 districts in India. Gati has an ambient vehicular fleet exceeding 5000 in number, on road. In addition, it runs a temperature‐controlled fleet of more than 200 refrigerated vehicles and also operates numerous world‐class
warehousing facilities across India,” the report added.
