CII to develop a new platform to help grown Indian startup industry
CII is planning to develop “Startup Mentorship Circle”, a mentorship platform to help grow the upcoming startups in the country. The platform will provide a common ground for India Inc. (big corporates) and budding entrepreneurs to connect, and enable startups to scale up and succeed in an exponential manner.
The industry body will focus on startups which are in operation from 2-5 years, and need further help to scale up its operations. It will also help startups get international coverage through partnerships with the Canadian and Israeli governments which can provide special benefits and tax soaps for the startups to begin joint ventures/partnership with their global counterparts.
According to Sanjiv Bajaj, Chairman, CII’s western region entrepreneurship & startup sub-committee “The government has a lot of facilities for startups but many don’t know how to access them. The nature of mentorship will be to assist startups in further fine-tuning their business plans, linking them to relevant member companies in the CII base, and help companies find relevant customers and strategic investors”.
CII also organizes CII STARTUPRENEURS EXPO for startups to demonstrate their work and network with the peers.
