Auto portals getting more connected and digital

Major auto portals such as CarDekho, CarTrade, ZigWheels and others are focusing on getting connected with car dealers, and help them improve their efficiency, boost customer acquisition and customer conversion rates. The portals are focusing on going digital and develop proprietary software to engage the dealers.

Nalin Kapoor, COO at CarDekho, said that as of now 15% of the portal’s revenues from dealership solutions come from CRM tools, LMS, dealer website development, SEM/SEO (search engine marketing) and other customer-service systems. And the firm is trying to capitalize on its digital offerings, and increase the share significantly. The company is also developing products for dealers to avail and manage ancillary services like insurance and auto finance in partnership with several banks.

The auto portals are also leveraged by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for digitizing their used-car business. CarTrade CEO said that “We want to help used-car dealers run their business efficiently and effectively by offering them all the services they need”.
