Apple Acquires Hyderabad-based Machine Learning Startup Tuplejump
US tech giant Apple Inc has acquitted Hyderabad-based machine learning startup Tupplejump for an undisclosed price. Terms of the deal are unknown and it’s unclear how Apple plans to integrate Tuplejump’s technology into its offerings. The acquisition is likely to improve its ability to store, process and visualise big data with its unique software. Interestingly, Apple has recently bought two other machine learning startups—Perceptio and Turi—and spree seems to be unending. According to reports, Apple was particularly interested in “FiloDB” — an opensource project that Tuplejump was building to efficiently apply machine learning concepts and analytics to complex data.
Artificial intelligence has already become a key investment for tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Amazon, who are competing with Apple to develop virtual assistants. Founded in 2013 by Rohit Rai, Satyaprakash Buddhavarapu, and Deepak Alur, Tuplejump is a data engineering platform that unifies and optimises workflows for engineers, analysts, and data scientists by bringing in a fresh experience to data processing and reporting. Tuplejump’s official website has been taken offline, however, a screenshot circulating on the net reveals that it was one of the first companies to develop a new set of technologies to handle the unwieldy amount of data large businesses produce.
