AI Startup Reid Hoffman Launches ChatGPT-Like Chatbot
The founder and co-founders of AI startup Reid Hoffman has announced the launch of its first AI chatbot product.
Inflection’s AI chatbot, called Pi, employs generative AI technology to connect with users through conversations in which individuals may ask questions and provide feedback, much to OpenAI’s popular chatbot ChatGPT.
According to Suleyman, the CEO of Inflection AI, the company constructed its own technology and built the Pi chatbot with a focus on human-like discussions and a high level of emotional intelligence, including being polite and supportive.
Suleyman stated, “On political matters or delicate topics, it’s very balanced and even-handed, but occasionally it can be amusing, ridiculous, and inventive.
According to him, the chatbot is appropriate for daily tasks performed for oneself but not for writing code or essays.
Suleyman claimed that the business had also invested time in boundary training to ensure that the AI did not transgress its behavior guidelines by having amorous interactions.
The objective is to guarantee that the AI always recognizes that it is an AI and never tries to mimic a human. Therefore, it frequently reminds the human user that it is an AI, according to him.
Users can communicate with Pi on a variety of channels, including its website, mobile application, and social media sites like Instagram. The service is free, and the business may eventually offer premium subscriptions, according to Suleyman.
In accordance with its terms of service, Pi trains its AI systems using user data, including conversational content. There is currently no internet connection for the chatbot.
Since OpenAI’s ChatGPT first appeared on the scene in November of last year, the market for generative AI-powered chatbots has become crowded. Chatbots like Google’s Bard and Character use huge language models, which mine enormous quantities of text, to synthesize data and produce content. People can have in-depth conversations with AI for both personal and professional purposes.
Inflection was founded in 2022 and was nurtured by venture capital firm Greylock, which also led a $225 million investment in the company.
In March, co-founder Hoffman, a Greylock partner and a director of Microsoft Corp., resigned from OpenAI’s board of directors, citing potential conflicts resulting from his work with AI startups.
