Quikr acquires Zimmber for $10 million

Quikr, the largest online classifieds players in the domestic market, has acquired Zimmber, the on-demand services players, for $10 million in a stock and cash deal to further expand its hyperlocal household services business. It is Quikr’s fourth acquisition in the last 1 year as it gulped down Salosa, Zapluk and StayGlad in the beauty services space. Quikr is on an inorganic growth spree from the last 2 years, and is focusing on major verticals such as jobs, homes, services, auto and consumer services. Post the acquisition, Zimmer’s 1,500 service providers will migrate to Quikr’s platform, and the former will enter newer geographies through this acquisition.

PD Sundar, Head of Quikr Services, said that “Zimmber has a good presence in Mumbai, Delhi and Pune in terms of having built a supply network for handyman services. This is relevant for us to offer a deep experience to customers since it has a good amount of repeat usage and has a good entry point for consumers to come on board to Quikr through QuikrServices. This category perfectly complements our existing marketplace solution for one-off service needs such as interior design, packers and movers etc.”.

Quikr is currently value at $1.5 billion, and has raised $350 million capital till now from Kinnevik AB, Tiger Global, Steadview Capital Management, Matrix Partners India and others since inception.
