Hiree switches business strategy for quicker growth
Hiree, the online hiring firm, is changing its business model from subscription-based offering to freemium business model. The new business model is aimed at bringing added benefits to recruiters who will be able to post jobs and access hundreds of candidate profiles for free. A freemium business model is one where basic services are provided free of charge while more advanced features must be paid for. Quikr, Hiree’s parent company, acquired the startup in July 2016 to venture into online recruitment business. The startup plans to leverage the fermium model to drive growth, and is targeting 3X jump in business within 1 year.
Quikr, the parent company, is also an advocate of freemium model, and has been using it across the various classified verticals that it offers. Manjunath Talwar, VP Quikr Jobs, said that “Online hiring platforms have typically followed a premium subscription model for employers. But freemium is one of the ways in which we are looking to grow ourselves in the market significantly. As a part of a larger company, we are able to take on larger bets, which will yield larger benefits for us”. He also reiterated that “Online classifieds have always been freemium. Quikr Jobs has also followed a similar strategy. Bringing the freemium model to white-collar hiring will be a game-changer and we believe it will be a winning strategy for Hiree too”.
