NetApp’s Accelerator Programme: Meet the 6 Deeptech Startups of the 11th Cohort

On Wednesday, April 26, during the company’s demo day event, cloud-based data storage and management business NetApp, which is listed on the Nasdaq, announced the graduation of six deeptech startups from the 11th cohort of its NetApp’s Accelerator Programme

The NetApp Accelerator programme has mentored 72 deeptech startups since its initial cohort in 2017, 18 of which have conducted proofs of concept (POCs). Additionally, seven of these startups were bought out. These startups have received more than $330 Mn in capital overall. 

According to Ravi Chhabria, the managing director of NetApp India, the escalating interest from startups and investors worldwide is a distinct indication of India’s expanding significance as a technology hub that satisfies global standards. The primary objective of the NetApp Excellerator is to establish a dynamic innovation ecosystem that supports deep-tech startups and promotes their growth.

PrivaSapien

PrivaSapien, a company founded in 2019 by Abilash Soundarajan and Deepika Abilash, was mentored through the NetApp Excellerate programme, a project intended to support female entrepreneurs.

The startup, situated in Bengaluru, has created privacy technologies for companies to improve user security and assist them in adhering to international security compliance standards. It primarily serves the US and European markets. Its clients include a Fortune 500 business from Silicon Valley and a European healthcare analytics firm. Omidyar Network India recently provided the firm with seed capital of $1 million. 

AppSentinels 

AppSentinels is an application programming interface (API) security platform that assists app developers in creating secure APIs and security teams in defending consumers from API assaults. It was founded in 2020 by Puneet Tutliani, Deepak Kushwaha, and Mohit Joshi.

RapL 

RapL is a SaaS platform that was established in 2021 by Arun Muthukumar and Murali Krishnan. It helps businesses develop the future generation of workers by enabling them through AI-driven adaptive and continuous learning. 

The startup is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, in addition to India. Currently, it serves more than 70 international clients, including EY, L&T, Dell, and Toyota. In a seed investment round in 2021, it has so far raised $2.2 Mn.

Zluri 

Zluri is a Bengaluru-based SaaS management platform that aids businesses in discovering, managing, and automating their SaaS apps from a single dashboard. It was started in 2020 by Ritish Reddy, Sethu M, and Chaithanya Y. 

Several investors, including Kalaari Capital, Endiya Partners, and MassMutual Ventures, support Zluri. It raised $10 Mn in its Series A round last year. Total financing raised for to date is $12 million.

Squadcast  

Squadcast, which was founded in 2018 by Amiya Adwitiya and Sisir Koppaka, has a main office in San Francisco and a development hub in Bengaluru.

By enabling global IT teams of all sizes to improve their issue management using next-generation Reliability Orchestration Engine based on site reliability engineering Some of the investors in Squadcast include Wipro and DNX Ventures. American Airlines, SonyLiv, Udaan, Clearbit, and others are among its customers.

Firefly 

Firefly, a provider of cloud asset management software, was established in 2021 to help DevOps and platform engineering teams better govern and manage their cloud footprints.
