Microsoft Bing and You.com Threaten Google’s Search Dominance
As people look for more effective search options, new AI technologies in the Microsoft Bing and You.com startup have begun to pose a threat to Google’s supremacy in the search market.
Google Search alternatives now provide users with a more individualized search experience, claims AI ethicist and CEO of You.com Richard Socher, according to ZDNet.
Low-quality content produced for SEO purposes has reduced the value of search results. This has increased consumer desire for improved search results, according to a comment from Socher.
Large language models and generative AI, like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, already pose unprecedented challenges to Google Search.
Innovation, user control, and strategic alliances are crucial, in Socher’s opinion.
Due to its current economic model and established market domination, he continued, “Google needs assistance to adapt to new paradigms, such as generative AI”.
Google plans to launch a new AI-powered Search engine next month, with further capabilities coming this autumn, as Microsoft takes the lead with AI-powered Bing Search and ChatGPT.
According to rumors, the new functionalities would first be made available to no more than one million people and will only be offered in the US.
The company’s intentions are a component of efforts to counter the danger posed by OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing chatbot.
