App-Creation Startup Gameplan App Receives $500K Investment

Cowles Ventures LLC and Kick-Start angel investment fund both of Spokane has invested $500,000 in app-creation startup Gameplan App with ties to the Inland Northwest.

The business whose co-founder and CEO Matthew Iversen runs it from his Cheney home create mobile apps for learning-related uses like exercise classes, academic institutions, and training programs.

Iversen claims that Gameplan Apps distinguishes itself from other platforms for building apps by requiring no coding experience from app developers.

Iversen had previously worked as a marketer for social media fitness stars who frequently promote and sell workouts and exercise manuals.

All of these fitness experts used the same platform but after speaking with them, Iversen learned that they prefer to compete on their own terms rather than with everyone else in one location by having their own app and location to sell programs.

He claims that many people cannot use traditional app-building providers. According to the industry newspaper Business of Apps, the typical price of a straightforward app is between $16,000 and $32,000.

Gameplan Apps, a subscription-based platform, deducts an additional portion of the money that app developers earn from their apps. Gameplan Apps, according to Iversen, is profitable with yearly revenue expected to be around $250,000.

Iversen claims that he used his own money to build the software. At first, he attempted to create the platform by contracting with an Indian company to do the development work. He complains that the communication was poor and that it took a long time.

He teamed up with Cory Swainston who was then employed as a software developer for a business with headquarters in Salt Lake City and he was included as a co-founder of the business.

Swainston, who continues to reside in Utah became the chief technology officer of Gameplan Apps last month. In January 2020, Gameplan Apps generated its first revenue.

According to Iversen, Cowles Ventures and Kick-investment Start’s will aid in the company’s growth. At the moment, only he and Swainston work for Gameplan Apps.

Gameplan Apps will initially hire one or two full-time staff members. Iversen claims that he has advertised a position for a full stack developer and anticipates needing help with marketing and accountancy. In the end, he sees a tiny group of five people working together.

Iversen and Swainston said they do not currently have plans for a new round of funding, and the company’s investors have advised waiting at least five months before doing so.
