upGrad’s UGDX: Plans To Invest $30 Mn & Launch 10 Global Campuses
upGrad’s UGDX: On Monday, the online higher education platform upGrad announced plans to invest $30 million and launch 10 international campuses in the US, India, and other countries the next year.
The company announced plans to launch three campuses in the US under the new brand name “UGDX” (the San Francisco campus will open in January), five in India (Delhi and Chennai), one in Singapore, and one in the Middle East.
This is a logical extension as we move to a very scaled combined offline and online model under our own upGrad brand, according to Ronnie Screwvala, Co-founder and Chairperson, upGrad. “As part of our goal to be the world’s first and biggest completely integrated higher edtech company encompassing college learners and working professionals from the age of 18 to 60+ years, this is a natural extension,” he added.
Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai are the locations of the company’s present facilities.
In order to seamlessly integrate campuses, professors, and businesses into one ecosystem, upGrad wants to recruit faculty across a variety of geographies under the name of “UGDX.”
‘UGDX’ will provide certifications, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in these fields, as well as specializations in AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, Blockchain, linked devices, IoT, quantum computing, digital management, leadership courses, and the Cloud.
Recently, the offline “INSOFE” institute with an emphasis on data science, AI, and ML was acquired by “UGDX.”
“Our learners will have access to real-world experiences from day one thanks to rich engagements with industry ties. Compared to typical programs, all of our programs feature at least twice as many capstones and project assignments” said Dr. Dakshinamurthy Kolluru, founder and CEO of upGrad INSOFE, who will also lead the “UGDX.”
Over 300 university partners and three million learners use upGrad across more than 100 countries.
