Gaming Startup Atirath Receives Seed Investment From Kalaari Capital

Atirath receives seed Investment: Atirath, a game development company, said on Monday that it had received an unknown sum of initial investment from Kalaari Capital.

Atirath is a casual and strategic game company founded in mid-2020 by Shiva Bayyapunedi and Ramachandra Raju. Their goal is to develop a game metaverse in the strategy genre that connects players, content providers, and game publishers through geographic, economic, and social experiences.

The cash will be used to improve goods, innovate and enhance the game metaverse’s economic architecture, and expand the company’s personnel.

“We are at an interesting period in the gaming world when new business models are growing from the game as a service to the game as a platform model”, said Shiva Bayyapunedi, co-founder of Atirath.

In a centralized and decentralized metaverse universe, we witness a lot of innovation as the concept changes. Play-to-earn and Play-to-collect business models, together with technological innovation in blockchain-based solutions in NFT/FT, will fuel spectacular development. Players are no longer passive, and new platforms will allow them to contribute to the success of games and profit from them. “We’re creating a strategy game metaverse with an Indian mythological theme and unique gameplay mechanics”, Bayyapunedi explained.

“While RMG and Casual Games have continued to do well”, said Vamshi Reddy, a partner at Kalaari Capital, “we are intrigued by the huge potential of the next models in Gaming”.

“With the advent of Play2Earn and the merging of NFTs and Crypto in Gaming, we will see new sorts of monetization layers emerge”. We believe that Indian Mythology is still an unexplored prospect, given India’s rich past and the potential for a worldwide blockbuster IP to emerging from the country. This, in combination with the NFT gameplay, is a big chance to create an immersive experience. “We’re ecstatic to be a part of this journey alongside Atirath in building the Indian mythology metaverse experience”, Reddy added.
