PayTM appoints Deepak Abbot as Senior VP

In a latest move, the ecommerce darling PayTM appointed Deepak Abbot as its Senior Vice President – Growth Marketing. Deepak has over 17 years of experience, and has worked with various organizations in the past such as Times Network, Reliance Entertainment, Zapak, Satyam and CyberMedia. The move comes after the firm recently on boarded Guru Gowrappan, Global MD of Alibaba group to its board as Additional Director.

The company has been aggressively strengthening its product and technology teams by hiring top talent in leadership positions such as former Reserve Bank of India executive Shinjini Kumar as the chief executive of its payment bank and former Citigroup executive Madhur Deora as the Chief Financial Officer.

Vijay Shekhar Sharma, PayTM’s Founder and CEO, also said that “I am very happy to see Deepak back in Paytm. We are in the next phase of our growth, and his skills and expertise will be instrumental to our efforts of reaching half a billion users by 2020”.
